Tokyo – Day 6 – 03/23/2018
Day 6 already??
To catch you up – my 4th day in Tokyo included the 3rd session at StudioSIX. The lesson was very hard – but progress was made. Day 5, yesterday, was an off-day for training. After all the snow and cold on Wednesday, a little bit of sunshine felt really good. I made sure to eat well, rested a bit, did some shopping in Shibuya and walked a couple of the major Gardens. Hanami is underway – peaking this week and next. The Cherry blossoms are everywhere, and very beautiful. I visited Shinjuku Gyoen – walked the entire Garden. Lovely Sakura, and a peaceful time. Another place I visit every time I’m in Tokyo is Meiji Jingu – the Shrine to Emporer Meiji. It is a beautiful place, and I find peace and rejuvenation even amongst the many who share my desire to spend time there.
Today was spent reviewing my lessons, tying patterns over and over. Up to Ikebukuro to visit a couple favorite shops, then another intense, but incredibly productive lesson at StudioSIX. Afterwards, treated myself to a wonderful dinner of Sushi at my fav restaurant, and back to the apartment to get some rest before another huge day tomorrow.
The Yukimura tribute performances at DXK start at 1:00 – and I will need to be in line by about 10:00 if I want to have a seat. Wish me luck…..
After that, back up to StudioSIX for a Kinbaku Live performance by Osada Steve-Sensei. I’m sure it will also be another great show.
I chose an amazing time to return to Tokyo. I have never before been here in the Spring. Despite the one cold day, it has been really wonderful to be back.
