It is hard to believe that 10 years have passed since Yukimura-sensei left us, on March 3, 2016.
But his legacy thrives worldwide. Many of his students and bottoms who have directly inherited the Yukimura style continue to practice his art. And new students are learning his school of Kinbaku.
Planning my second trip to Japan, in 2015, Yukimura was at the top of my list of people I wanted to meet. Unfortunately, by then, he was already quite ill. And I never got the opportunity to know him. But over the years, I have been honored to meet and work with many of his students. Receiving instruction as directly from the source as I am able.
To mark the 10th anniversary of Yukimura-sensei’s passing, there are a number of events and related activities taking place across the globe.
